Full release notes
GoodPlayer 12.15 introduces free downloads, daily free playback, an optional monthly subscription and a lifetime unlock, along with improvements to purchases, translations and accessibility.
Lifetime access for existing paid users
- If you purchased the paid version of GoodPlayer or redeemed a promo code for the original paid app, you keep lifetime playback access once your original purchase is verified. No additional purchase or subscription is required.
- If lifetime access does not appear after updating, use the Apple Account associated with your original purchase, connect to the internet, and open Settings → Playback Access → Restore Purchases.
Free downloads and daily playback
- New users can download GoodPlayer for free and enjoy 30 minutes of daily playback per device in the GoodPlayer player. Local and network media share this allowance.
- Only actual playback time counts; pausing and buffering do not. View your remaining time for the day. Unused time does not carry over.
- Media playing within web pages in the built-in browser remains free without a time limit and does not use the 30-minute allowance.
- When the allowance runs out, playback in the GoodPlayer player pauses. Downloads and file management remain available. Resume with the next day's allowance, or choose a monthly subscription or lifetime unlock for unlimited playback.
Monthly subscription and lifetime unlock
- Choose a monthly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase to remove the time limit from existing playback features.
- Users eligible for Apple's introductory offer can start a 7-day free trial. After the trial, the subscription renews automatically at the monthly price shown before purchase. Use Manage Subscription to cancel renewal.
- Active trials, subscriptions and lifetime access do not use your daily free allowance. If you buy lifetime access while subscribed, use Manage Subscription to cancel your existing subscription's renewal.
Easier access to purchases and restoration
- Added a Premium entry to the Media Library and File Browser home screens, and moved Playback Access to the top of Settings. View plans, restore purchases and manage your subscription from one place. Lifetime users see their Lifetime Access status.
- Purchase options appear at the top of Playback Access, so you can view them before playing any media or using up your free time.
- Fixed a misleading failure message after a successful purchase. Improved recognition of 7-day trial offers and refreshed eligibility information after purchases and trial expiration.
Translations and accessibility
- Filled translation gaps across 24 languages for the Media Library, playback queues, file imports, browser, downloads and purchase messages, including missing text in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Settings.
- Improved VoiceOver labels for Play, Pause, Previous, Next, Fast Forward and Rewind, making controls and playback state easier to understand.
